Pakistani chicken biryani is quite simply an aromatic dish made with chicken. You can choose from so many different recipes that are available, including chicken kebabs, rotis, plain or flavored with yogurt and mint, as well as the famous chicken buli. I chose three Pakistani chicken biryani recipes to try out: one for you to try at home, one to take away with you and one for sharing with friends and family. I hope you will enjoy them all as much as I did!
The first
recipe is what you usually find in a lifestyle Magazine. It's simple and fast,
and is exactly what you would typically find on a fast food or Indian
restaurant. The ingredients are all very common: onions, tomatoes, spices,
butter, clarified oil, chicken, rice and salt. This dish is served either hot
or cold and is often accompanied by a side dish of rice to dip it into.
The second
recipe for your enjoyment is my favorite of all Pakistani chicken recipes. I
had heard about this particular dish from a friend of mine and decided to give
it a try. I found that it was called Masala Biryani, which literally means
"hot and sour". In this dish, chicken is marinated in a tangy and
spicy sauces made with Indian spices, marinated for hours and left to cook on
the heat until it becomes tender. Then the sauce is mixed with tomato paste,
clarified oil, and butter to give the chicken its signature flavor. This dish
is often served with basmati rice and is enjoyed all over the world.
